Jive Friday!

Today's Jive Term relates to what has been on my mind this past week: friends coming to visit! From all different areas of the US! Here's hoping you all travel safely and get to us in one piece! Can't wait to see you!
Today's Jive Term is : Trip.

I will use it in a sentence today: I hope I don't trip over all the work I have let pile up over the last week.

And with that, I am off to work on a freelance project I got here locally for a design firm. Yay me! This weekend will be devoted to me cleaning the upstairs of the house and getting some more work done on outside decor' for the Halloween festivities! Later!

Home Alone -AAaaargggghh!

Back from Orlando and now home alone here, slapping my face in the mirror and coming up with inventive ways of fighting off crooks with my toy collection.
D and I had a GREAT TIME in Orlando and are now back home gearing up for the Halloween festivities with our pals!
We were really happy that this year Bri joined us on our yearly trek to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios. We had a blast and I can report this year, I didn't jump in the laps of anyone out of fright. I wasn't scared that much. I am growing. Becoming a man here.
It's time to bring you today's Jive Term.
Today's term is inspired by our trip to Orlando. *Special thanks to Bri and Mel for their hospitality! It was great seeing you guys and can't wait to hang in a couple weeks. Also, to Stac. Great to see you again my dear and we look forward to your visit.* The Jive Term be Dope, as in "This year's Orlando trip was dope".

Joe-I got your message last night on the phone. Duane could hear it from the earset. He was freaked. Me, I just know it's normal.
Ray-Tell em' to TAKE THIS JOB AND SHOVE IT today! Go for it Norma Rae! I wanna know how it goes!
Fanny-I haven't gotten in contact with ya on AIM lately, but I am comin' your way. Maybe we can get together while D and I are in Orlando!

Don't Go Into Shock...

...yes, there is a second post! In a ROW!
Duane and I are excited as hell to be leaving tomorrow afternoon to head to Orlando to see Bri, Mel and Stacy and to forego in our yearly tradition of attending the Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios.
This shit is gonna be awesome! Bri is going with Duane and I and Stacy (the usual trio) this year and it is gonna be so damn fun!

Other news, SCAD emailed today about a contest for their upcoming Blood Drive with the American Red Cross or something. It's Halloween themed, so you know my ass went into overdrive today to do up some art for it. Ya get 50 bucks, a copy of the poster and tshirt ur artwork will appear on.

Finally, last night Duane and I were woken up at 3:30 in the morning to the doorbell ringing. Ok.
Dark outside. Our windows open. The trickle of rain in the bushes outside. The doorbell continuing to be rung.
Duane jumping up and saying loudly "What's That?!?!"
I whispered back "That's the killer outside our front door that just heard you here in the bedroom. Thanks."
I looked through the blinds and saw a cop car.
Damn it was like an ep of CSI or something. Nothing good happens this late and a cop is outside our door.
Thought they were gonna tell us a fugitive is hiding in our upstairs bedroom or something.
The kind cop at the door told us that they received a 911 call that someone hung up in the middle of and it came from the phone number registered to our place. We told him we both have cel phones and no longer have a LAN line.
So, poor bastards who aren't registered with the city with their phone number were probably being bludgeoned to death in their living rooms by some homicidal maniac while the cop was standing in our doorway, staring at two half naked men in shock. Wonder what the hell he was thinking.
Bet I will be drawing the outcome of that 911 call in the blotter next week.

Finally, I am posting a link to an artist's website who I discovered today and am really impressed with. It's a husband and wife team and I LOVE their kooky imagery! It is SO AWESOME. Check out the site of Brandt Peters and then the site of his wife, artist Kathy Olivas. Their stuff is wacky, a little bit nutty, and a WHOLE LOTTA kooky! (PLUS it's sick and twisted!)
